The following list of equipment are all items we require to improve and develop OYM Internet Radio. With our listeners help, we aim to develop the radio into one of the main alternative media stations on the web, and in the future, add more programs to our current schedule.

Thanks to our listeners generous donations big and small (even in these hard times), We have already managed to aquire a number of items to help us improve the station (see below). So we would just like to say a big THANK YOU to all our listeners that have donated. These donations have helped us to improve the station to what it is today.

With your continuing support, we want to make it one of the top alternative media station on the internet, but we cannot do it without your support and help!

Equipment Required

Boom Mike Stands These are proper studio boom mike stands which we would love to have. There are more maneuverable than our courrent mike stands.
Studio Mikes At the moment, we are using bog standard stage microphones. To improve the quality, we would like to get two proper studio microphones that are design to fit on to the boom microphones stands above.

Rack Mount

This is a 6U rack which we need to mount some of our equipment.  We also need to purchase a device called a Rack Reducer along with the rack to allow for smaller rack items to be fitted into the larger 19" rack.
Headphone Amp This is a headphone amplifier. We have a very basic 4 port headphone device at present but this new one will provide us with more functionality and also can be placed in a rack to keep things tidy.
Megaphone This is a Megaphone that myself and Steve would like to get for when we get involved with the Anti-Eviction Task Force. We feel that having a Megaphone would be ideal for this purpose along with protesting in general.
Mace JM20 Pro Scanner

This is a Mace JM20 Pro scanner for detecting RF signals from 1MHz to 6GHz. This picks up RF signals from people who feel they have been selected to be experimented on unknowningly and illegally.  This is called domestic terrorism and silent rape. We want to get one of these devices and offer our services to people who feel they have been targeted.

Equipment Purchased From Donations

Telephone Device This is the telephone device we use for listeners who want to call into the show which we felt was very important for listeners to talk to our guests and ask questions.

PAP2 Device The PAP2 Device was required to route our station telephone number through the internet and than to the telephone device.
Skype Logo Sometimes we have to ring our guests on a standard landline telephone number.  Our guests could be anywhere in the world and calls from Skype to landline and mobile numbers are chargeable.

Mixing Desk The mixing desk was required to replace our very old and battered desk. It also allows us to route skype calls/telephone calls much easier and provides more options regarding the amount of devices we can add.
Behringer MDX4600 This is a MDX4600 Gate/Compressor/Limiter.  This device will improve our audio, normalise the audio so all audio is equal in volume and remove background noise. We are working out what cables we need before we order.

Cables

We need a range of cables to replace the existing non-shielded cables that we are using.  We also need to replace specific cables with proper connectors rather than having converted cables.
Cable Tester This is a cable tester which is a very handy device when you have a studio full of cables.  We can now test all our cable to check to make sure that they are ok to use.
Linksys Switch This is an 8 port switch which allows us to connect more computer equipment.  Steve managed to source a similar switch with 24 ports very cheaply! We can now hook up all the computers for the show on the network.
